<image:title>FF EVENTS - Featured in Fifteen - Faith and Flourish</image:title>
<image:caption>Recapping on another FFantastic night - our very FFirst collaboration at catford mews. For those who haven’t been to an FF night what’s wonderful about it is that, although we meet the features and curate the theme to bind the night together we have no idea how each feature will FFrame their FFifteen minutes. We deliberately FFiercely FFind individuals of very different disciplines to emotionally charge, shift and intrigue our audience. The mix is a rare FFix which is why our evening are so unique. Our features on Thursday night ranged from a local artist, photographer, film maker, well-being coach and writer FFraming the FFocus around the theme - Faith and Flourish. Our evenings aren’t just about the engagement of listening to our FFeatures it’s a place for people to gather and encourage discussions between eachother in the interval, to be connected through intrigue, curiosity and an appetite for the unexpected. This is why we love our audience as much as our features because watching the interactions of our audience with eachother is simply wonderful. Our evenings are inclusive to all, you can literally rock up on your own and be welcomed in to safe surrounds, meet new interesting people and walk away with far more than you entered with. We don’t record our nights - the purpose has always been to bring everyone together to share in that moment, digitally disarmed to be as present as possible. The evening is an abundance of FFeels that stay with you, no passion shared is FForgotten. No person remains untouched by this special cluster of creativity, curiosity, courage and captivating charm. We will return in 2024 to bring you more of what we love and we hope you stay tuned, keep engaged with us while we work out our next FFeature FFix! Thank you again to all our FFabulous FFeatures. You trusted in us and we whole heartedly appreciate the time and commitment you gave us.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Our first feature speaker of our last feature night: George Bettany, one of the two founders of Sanctus; who are on a mission to completely change the way we work on our mental health. Their biggest vision is to put a mental health gym on the high street. George shared with us his incredible journey of two friends experiencing anxiety through work pressures - the facades we can all hide behind when faced with demanding jobs and the overwhelming factor that no one speaks out about it. Through their courage and bravery to share their own experiences on social media, not only did they create a behaviour of self recovery, the couldn’t believe how much interest and responses they received from people all experiencing similar struggles. So they started creating meeting points were people could simply come and talk confidentially about anything. What we felt from George’s 15 minutes was his absolute determination to change the perception and stigmas surrounding mental health. It made us question ‘why don’t we talk about our mental workouts like we do our physical ones?’ Sanctus is growing rapidly (an organisation that is just two and a half years old) creating partnerships with mental healths most respected organisations - but the biggest beauty of George and James’s mission is that they totally live by their values and respect mental health for everyone. Sanctus can’t say it or claim this but we can; You guys are literally saving lives. The harsh reality is that 5,821 people aged 10 and over committed suicide in 2017, a decrease from 5,965 deaths in 2016. Male suicides have consistently accounted for approximately three-quarters of all suicides in the UK since the mid-1990s. George and James you are making such a difference to the face of mental health and we cannot wait to see your vision happen and that time will come sooner than you think (pardon the pun).</image:caption>

<image:caption>Our third speaker(s) for the night - Emmanuel and brother Lemuel Unaji - we hadn’t actually met Lemuel until about 30 minutes before Emmanuel was due to speak - which generally doesn’t happen but does present how our nights tend to roll very spontaneously to say the least - However, it was an absolute pleasure to have both brothers side by side as they spoke so passionately about their brand ‘Unaji’ - this is a brand that is crafted by many disciplines: art, fashion, music and culture - all heavily influenced by social constructs. Emmanuel’s unique artistic style is made up of many layers and fabrications of magazine cutaways which he then mixes a multitude of other techniques to - be it painting, drawing and montaging of mixed elements. His rich expressions do not stop on canvas - they become wearable pieces of art which creates this fabulous fusion of fashion and fine art. As part of Emmanuel and Lemuel’s presentation, slide 3 was the celebration of their mother and her influence on their hunger for success and boy are these guys a success! as humble young souls they really didn’t upsell enough the places they have created live events and exhibited in, (Tate Britain, House of MTV, Circle 1 Gallery Berlin, Frieze Art Fair are just a few to mention) or the interest they have gained from influential music artists through their besoke clothing (Poppy Ajudha, Kojey Radical, Yxng Bane, Jessie J and many more). It’s incredible how much thought goes into their production line - one event will comprise of framed artwork, video projection, music will be created by Lemuel so the atmosphere is tempered just right and then there will be live music. All considered and curated for a fully immersive evening. Now thats what you call brave!</image:caption>

<image:caption>Our FFith FFeature Dave, He came to speak from the heart, to face his demons head on but not only that he was sharing it with a room full of strangers. His journey to Featured15 started when his ffantastic wife Emma spoke at April's FF...Dave was alcohol dependent he had only recently acknowledged this Dave told us how he started drinking from a young age pointing to the photos of himself and even gained a nickname from it glugs ...his drinking escalated from teenage experimenting to dominating his everyday life and routines. We all felt the vice like grip alcohol held over him, his words pulling us into this dark space. It defined him, his persona , his identity couldn't exisit without alcohol to colour round the edges. Taking himself away from his area in a half hearted attempt to change his life drink become a solitary exercise in self deception. Dave created a successful outward appearance to everyone playing up to the gregarious blokes bloke... inside he struggled to understand the insatiable need to obliterate his feelings with alcohol. His success brought him into Emma's life, we felt the deep connection he has to Emma and depth of love for this in his words "beautiful beautiful woman" he made us laugh and cry at his love story and a little known pop star Peter Andre and using Twitter "sliding into her DM's" we thought we'd be hearing about love conquering all ..instead Dave couldn't stop the same patterns of behaviour re-emerging like Emma's cancer it came back and he couldn't run from it or hide it from Emma. Still not enough to stop him. He disappeared for 3 days drinking himself drinking into a stupor leaving him incapacitated on a bench that was his lowest point. We felt his sense of shame and isolation. Emma's 3rd diagnosis and a friend trying to reach out to him suggesting that they both try to stop drinking for January was the catalyst, it was as though a light came one he could suddenly see a way out..."i have no off switch" he said "so it was all or nothing". This marked his journey to being @sober_dave_today . His bravery lies in humility</image:caption>

<image:caption>Our second feature of last weeks FF event - Naomi Leake a speaker from @extinctionrebellion Shared with us the harsh realities of what’s really going on with our planet. Naomi had a lot of information to impart in her fifteen minutes and some of it was frankly terrifying. If we don’t get a grip as a species within eleven years we will basically not be able to stop the inevitable end of our civilisation. Thats some message to have to deliver but she did it without any of us running for the door! Naomi’s message is one that cant be ignored and although her statistics about animal extrinction made you feel helpless, extinction rebellion are clear that things can change. In the light of the facts on offer their three demands seem more than reasonable: 1. Declare climate emergency 2. Make Zero Carbon by 2025 happen 3. Create a Citizens assembly. Naomis presentation has left me wanitng to find out more.” We couldn’t agree more and from what we could see, there wasn’t anyone in the room that didn’t feel totally saddened by the damage that can’t be undone. That is a man made product. We have created a bomb of mass distruction. And all the time this has been ticking off in the background we’ve been blinkered by other ‘threats’ to society - We all have a role to putting something back don’t we? We still have time… not much but let's make this time count and all think a bit more before we put that damage in. Thank you so much Naomi for reconnecting us with our one most precious shared belonging: our planet.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Our fourth feature speaker for the evening Lucy - @lucysullivanuk sharing her brave story around her own mental health breakdown, how her fathers sudden passing triggered years of trauma and a mental pitfall that almost saw her sectioned. Her passion for drawing - her ‘graphic medicine’ and her fantastic skill of comic artistry enabled her to channel her anxiety, depression and fears through her graphic novel: ‘Barking’ which features a character called Alix Otto - a woman haunted by a recent tragedy (Lucy laughs at the figurative comparison to herself, which of course the book is based on) she is then chased by a big black dog (hence the name ‘barking’). What Lucy’s fifteen minutes with us highlighted (infact it was less than 15 minutes, she was very FFast but thorough!) was how this book really did create a turning page in her life. Creating an enthralling story where she could become a character that she could completely identify with and use visual metaphors to really detangle the madness and grief she was drowning in. Lucy’s hard work has most certainly paid off - she has successfully crowd funded Barking and it is set to be published with Unbound (we’ll let you know when) Lucy’s bravery and courage to explore inside her own mind and express it through her incredible creativity will without a doubt encourage other sufferers to open up and tell their stories too. And hello, how many female comic artists do you know? we are thrilled its Lucy. Thank you again Lucy for sharing your brave story and finding your belonging in barking..: keep barking!</image:caption>

<image:caption>The FFinal FFeature @thalesthegreat shifted our gears, immediately making the room erupt in laughter as he highlighted the salubrious surroundings of Catford to Forest Hill. We knew that this was a ride we wanted to take. Thales The Great is a talented artist taking incredibly strong lyrics to his own sound. Informed by the great rappers and lyricist of the hip hop scene, he painted a vivid picture of his love and passion woven with his humour. We laughed as he told us of his early start making and selling mix tapes at school. To eventually having the confidence to speak his own words and the journey this took to being on the cusp of success only to be disillusioned by the industry he'd spent his whole life wanting to be part of. Stepping away from his dream lead to a his mental health suffering but he found strength by reaching out and asking for help. His path to healing lead him back to his inherent need to be a creator and make his voice and story be heard. Culminating in his career taking off again supporting Rag and Bone Man on his last tour. Thales had found his greatness and where he belonged on stage.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Annie - @fandango kid our first speaker of the night: Annie is an incredible visual artist creating impactful public installations. Following the loss of nearly all her family almost 8 years ago, she has spent many years processing and exploring stories around death and loss to actively make it part of the main stream conversation. Annie shared with us the hardship of losing almost all of her immediate family and the struggle that her and her father were exposed to; losing people they were both close to but had very different life relationships with and how finding a space to share in their grief chapter was a real challenge. They decided to document their grief together in a book and film to help others formulate different ways to express grief. At the time of her loss there were limited platforms to share and talk about tragedy and loss so Annie literally took her messages to the streets as an urban paste up and bold outlet to share and question societal taboos (in the process receiving an ASBO?!). Annie’s work is incredible. I (Helen) have witnessed it first hand when my client at Bristol University commissioned Annie to run workshops with students. The vibrancy and energy she brings along with a solid foundation of trust is a tool box she has so couregeously built by her own self worth - she enables you to feel safe in how you share your inner feelings/thoughts and normalise it by rooting it with positivity and this is testament to the work she has done at de-coding, unpacking her own channels of grief and taking control of it. We applaud you Annie. Keep being awesome and do not stop dancing!!</image:caption>

<image:caption>Wow…. what can we say. As I (Helen) sit here trying to piece the evening together it’s all just a massive blur of utter wow-ness. So the night started with me and Maya in an utter panic as the room started to FFill up literally around 6.30pm before doors opening at 7pm and we couldn’t stop it!! so we didn’t have time for a rehearsal or run through and no sound check aaaggghhh - but the great thing about this outcome is how many people were eager to get in, get mingling and get ready for the night ahead. It’s always a bit like opening the FFront door of home, seeing FFamiliar FFaces is always a treat but also greeting FFirst timers and their look of the unexpected in their eyes.. but the intrigue and almost excitement of the night ahead.. As we explain to all on the night - we take time to seek out our features but we have no idea of the ground they choose to cover. We always meet our features, explain the theme and ask them to closely connect their talk with the theme and then that is it. The fifteen minutes is literally all theirs. Community and Control was our theme choice for our 2 year anniversary because our project is all about us letting go of control.. allowing people to explore their own possibilities and potential without any restraints. My god does it work! in doing just this we have FFormed a really strong and positive community. The vibe in the room was INCREDIBLE. And no amount of words can possibly described what that actually FFelt like. Thank you again to ALL our features…go visit them each on our July Feature page and find out more about them.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Christopher Syrus grabbed our attention with his spoken word delivery of the moment his life changed forever. We were captivated by his intensity and passion…facing 10 years in prison that took a boy to a man. He learnt from his first night in the cell when he asked the guard for a pillow and though we laughed with him he told us in no uncertain terms that was the turning point, when the simplest of item is now out of your reach. That was the moment he knew he needed to control his future. He started to study enrolling in the Open university and gaining the tools through his psychology degree to unravel the threads of his past that led him to the cell he was imprisoned in. Understanding he had to visualise a future in order to get to have one. He not only left with a degree but took his experience and used it as teaching tool to help others, speaking from prisons to schools telling his story using spoken word and his personal testimony. His powerful message moved us just as he has with so many other lives.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Ricky returns! Ricky first featured with us at our year anniversary in June 2017. We’ve become awesome FFriends since and we really wanted Ricky to come back and share his story of the last year. His feature with us in 2017 was based on the events following the tragedy at Grenfell. Ricky is a firefighter and was one of many there on the day of the disaster. The experience that day changed his life forever. In order to try and process the impact he experienced, he expressed his feelings through poetry - something he has turned to since he was very young. It’s a form of expression that until recently he had concealed, his reasons being ‘It’s not a medium that is deemed very manly’ and as society dictates his job as the optimum of masculinity you can see why he would have reservations to vocalise this. However he took the courage to share his poem with social media and as a result of it’s reach, his poem was made into a short feature film called ’The fire fighter’ (at this point in the evening there wasn’t a dry eye in the house). Ricky went on to share with us his battle with PTSD and depression, how it presented a version of himself that he wasn’t totally comfortable with and his quest to be a better person (physically and mentally) and improve his relationship with the world that he see’s was vital to his fight for survival away from substances and alcohol misuse that he had also fallen into. He knew poetry was his clean salvation so he started to use it as a positive method to face other deep rooted fears he hadn’t ever really challenged. Ricky shared three of his extremely moving poems with us, the third being called ’The key’, an open and heart wrenching poem about his abusive step father. Ricky took us on a journey through out of control and the darkness that surrounded him to back in control to the light that now shines through him.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Our FFeatures stories are always compelling and Paul is no exception, having grown up in Forest hill and Catford he spent most of his youth in and out of prison, each time he became more entrenched in the criminality and drug lifestyle. Paul hit rock bottom in his 40’s realising that he was either going die from drugs or from crime he needed to make a change. Returning to a spot in Forest hill he had once broken into, now he returned to it seeking help. There he found support to become sober and to see that the skills he used to feed his drug habit and ingenuity to evade incarceration; were the tools he needed to be a successful entrepreneur. He founded urban trenches in his own words “up-Fucks” Burberry trench coats into one-off highly coveted fashion pieces. He shared how using these skills has seen him turn an idea into a thriving business and now as way to draw in young people either at risk or at the periphery of crime to engage with fashion and to change their future on their terms. He sees potential where others see hopelessness and he refuses to exclude these young people from being successful members of our community. His sobriety has allowed him the control to take his life in a completely new direction. He is currently looking for a space to set up his project so do get in touch if you think you can help.</image:caption>

<image:caption>We find our features in many ways, Cat Bateman perhaps better known as @littlefolksong has long been a supporter of us and telling everyone about Featured15. We felt it was time she shared her story. Cat loves to spark joy in others and her love of music and singing came together after a push to stop talking and start doing from those around her. That saw the birth of little folk Song, as business Cat set up for parents/carers to come together to sing nursery rhymes. Her community was formed; a supportive uplifting space for children and parents alike. Cat shared her belief in the power of nursery rhymes to help not just the child’s development but the act of singing in a group can help tackle postnatal depression. Cat’s huge heart shone out to the audience, her stories of singing to one child dressed in a cow onesie with a tutu had us all in stiches, the path to success is sometimes in the moments when you learn to say no. As we learnt that Cat’s world was shaken 7 years ago when her son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, she had to find a way to control the new normal her family had to embrace. Taking control of a situation that meant she had to inject her child multiple times a day with insulin has shifted her attitude to what control can mean in your life. The message we all took away was to face the fear and just do it because we need to grab life with both hands.</image:caption>

<image:caption>We want to say a FFinal thank you to all our FFeatures for making our FFirst FF of the year so FFantastic. The end of last year was a tough old ride for the both of us and having to put our FF plans on hold when we did FFilled us with so much repression. We allowed the time to do what it needed to do; and then reFFocus on our passion. To come back and have an event like last Thursday FFills us with so much joy. BACK IN THE ROOM and already ready to hit it up for March - and have we got ANOTHER FFantastic night to look FForward to. We hope you can join is for Youth and Yearning.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Our third FFeature @estherxx back with us for a second time as her organisation Nerve ’super charges’ individuals in rural communities to upskill and FFind their passions to provide them with a sustainable income and a renewed sense of worth. Esther brings the strong message that ‘people in poverty are not as vulnerable as you think’ and we just LOVE the way she stops repression and actively renews and reactivates peoples hopes and dreams into something tangible. Esther has supported so many people but she chose to share the amazing story of Bira an Albanian woman in East Africa, marginalised by her community and hunted for her body parts - this woman and her story is simply just incredible. She went from selling banana pancakes day in and day out to releasing her inner drive and decided what she really wanted to do was to be a fashion designer. From a small conversation with Esther a seed was sewn and Bira FFinally FFulfilled her ambition pretty much by herself. What a FFantastic story of renewal and not allowing repression to hold you back. Find out more about Esther and her project www.wegotnerve.com</image:caption>

<image:caption>Our FFourth FFeature @nikki - we have only ever seen Nikki in sequins at the HSDY (Haven’t stopped dancing yet) nights that we have been too and guess what… she totally rocked her FFifteen minutes with us in sequins, dungarees and leopard print… with the simple message of not allowing ageism to repress. Nikki set up HSDY 10 years ago because she was sick of dancing amongst people half her age and the FFrowns she got in the process. She wanted to create a night of disco that was inclusive to all. She took us back over the years with FFantastic pictures of the community her and her HSDY crew have brought to London. She took us on an emotional high and captured some low points in that journey too and how her core crew just kept her dancing through it all… then we had the amazing surprise of Lady boo and Lindsey getting up and introducing a FFraction of what HSDY is about - getting everyone dancing in their seats. We rowed the boat, went round the world and achieved a FFew Mexican waves. If you haven’t been to a HSDY night yet - it’s a MUST. We cannot wait to join a night of dancing on March 7th for their 10th year anniversary check out https://www.haventstoppeddancingyet.co.uk for all their up and coming dates.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Our FFinal and Fabulous FFeature of the night - Tunday. Wow. What a man. Tunday shared with us his story of repression through his relationship with his father and how not FFulfilling what his father had wished for (him to FFollow in his accountancy FFootsteps) created traumatic and challenging times in pursuit of his real passion - music. He managed to FFlee Nigeria (Lagos), his father pushing for his education to continue and FFlourish in London (in accountancy). Tunday expressed his musical passion as a spirit in him that chose him, he had no say in it. He FFaced so much hardship through his decision to live for his dream. Thursday night showed us just one dimension of Tunday’s musical talents - he had us all on our FFeet with his sax beats… but as a multi-instrumentalist prodigy, he is by FFar a man of so many talents. We want to thank you for NEVER EVER becoming an accountant. If you haven’t been to Lagos Bar, 221 Lee High Road, Lewisham, London SE13 5PQ it’s a must. They have learn salsa nights £7 ever Thursday and loads of FFantastic events (you can also hire their space too) - please do check them out and FFollow them on instagram https://www.lagosbar.co.uk/events</image:caption>

<image:caption>Our second FFeature @thalesthegreat as our theme was about #Renewal we wanted to revisit past FFeatures and see where the last year has taken him; as we knew he would Thales came in FFull of his energy he was in FFull lyrical FFlow and with renewed sense of purpose with his music and lyrical journey. Thales making the connections very clear that music isn’t the driving FForce behind youth crime. That as a community we all need to learn from each other. Just because a group of young people choose to wear hoodies and jogging bottoms doesn’t mean they are in a gang causing problems - 'everyone has their vibe’ it was no different in any other decade. Let’s not FForget that. What we need to teach young people is that the music scene isn’t what it appears to be. A lot of rappers that young people aspire to be like are driving around in hire cars and going home to mums cooking. The FFacade isn’t what it appears to be. Thales you nailed it again FFriend, keeping it real, saying it how it is and waking up our audience.</image:caption>

<image:caption>We started off our feature night last Thursday with the FFabulous @torierobinson10 sharing her story of living with epilepsy. Her utter courage of how she has spent decades making sure she is not defined by the debilitating and unpredictability of this condition. Torie brought to us an open and honest account of how she lives with her ‘dodgy brain’ and how she was one of the FFew people able to have temporal lobectomy (only 1% of all people with epilepsy are viable) the aim of this type of surgery is to reduce the amount of seizures - however the operation then triggered a traumatic period of depression. Torie’s incredible story provided personal picture evidence of the amount of physical intrusion she has had to accept and experience through the majority of her life. One thing is for certain she is definitely NOT defined by epilepsy, she is 100% defiant and we were so grateful (she had terrible FFlu!) that she was able to share her story with us. Be sure to follow Torie! Thank you so much for being a feature and brining us closer to epilepsy and the FFantastic work you do to raise awareness.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Our Fourth speaker of the night - The FFantastic Miles @sobertreker - not shy of an audience or a FFew words - what we love about Miles is his incredible FFrankness and truth around his sobriety. I (Helen) FFound Miles via my own sobriety pathway and was so drawn by his 6 years of recovery through his truth and honesty - which he shared on the night. After spending decades exploring all poisons known to man he decided to break free of the exhaustion that surrounded this person he never wanted to be. In fact his sobriety made him realise he hated parties, actually liked his own company and the volume of drugs and alcohol was masking the real authenticity of his true and some what introverted self. He found escapism, freedom and euphoria from a passion of trekking which remains his choice of therapy. Miles is an amazing advocate of breaking free from the viscous, relentless and exhausting cycle of substance misuse. Thank you Miles for providing me (Helen) personally with advice I’ll never forget and for showing us all that sobriety should not be feared. Follow Miles @thesobertreker</image:caption>

<image:caption>Our first speaker of the evening - the FFantastic and talented local abstract artist Laura Hepworth - Sharing grief and creativity: the raw emotions she had experienced through the long and torturous 15 year battle her mum faced with cancer. Laura described how her mums terminal illness led to changes in her work; the loneliness and grief faced during the pandemic when her mum finally lost her battle. Laura talked about how her work changed in colour and depth and intensity during this time, her work become bolder and fiercer - much bigger than what she was feeling. It helped to open up a creative channel of empathy - a strong reflective territory to how her mum coped for 15 years with her illness. The hardship of knowing that a parent won’t last the year - someone so selfless, someone so incredibly giving. ‘creativity can be the harness - open space to freely express myself and those that I teach’ Laura expressed that this time taught her so many truths but also how she triumphs every moment of the day by making sure she gives back in a capacity that she knows her mum would do without a second thought. Thank you so much Laura for sharing such great insights on the changing layered landscapes of your work; how you channeled your raw emotions through your creativity, harnessing those in your community with your truth and working with vulnerable children in your practice to show them creative ways to triumph through their challenges.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Our third speaker for the evening - Sara, sharing with us her latest achievement of publishing her first book ‘The reading Library’ as part of Sara’s share she resighted a passage from the book that focuses on characters that experience loneliness and isolation but come together through their love of reading. What was so lovely to hear was that through Sara’s journey of creating these fictitious characters she actually learnt through them; opening up her own truths. Sara shared with us the loss of a dear friend in 2012 along with the loss of both grandparents during the pandemic and the loneliness and isolation attached to this grieving process. How we take for granted collective grieving. Sara talked passionately about the importance of community. That community really doesn’t have to be about joining a group; it can merely be every day acts of kindness to strangers which can really be life saving to us. Thank you Sara for sharing so openly and bringing us closer to your book - The Reading Library.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Jack - wow a man that has never spoke his truth publicly - ever! He sprung onto the feature spot with such energy and excitement. Jack shared his incredible journey through an eating disorder that started at a very young age with an uncomfortable relationship with food - his chip addiction from childhood that triggered dangerous outcomes throughout his 20’s. When her started to explore a richer food palette, the purging started along with the entrapment of anorexia. Knowing he had an illness that wasn’t openly talked about he felt there was little way out. When he did have the courage to open up about it with a friend he was able to gain the advice much needed. He started to eat healthy and act with it. He replaced his purging euphoria with running, and as part of his journey to living well with food he became a chef. How is this even possible?! Jack is also a chef at the cafe and provided us with an awesome FF burger feast on the night. Jack shared with us the recent sad news of losing his close friend to suicide. Jack felt a surge to start opening up conversations, to be unapologetic about grief. To find a way to offer support to men who suffer in silence - with this he decided to start a running club in memory of his friend - BOLT - his running club is now three months old and is open to anyone who wants a release through running and the chance to talk about their challenges. Please do share jacks running club on instagram with anyone who may need support through troubled times and needs a positive outlet. Thanks so much Jack for showing so much courage and sharing your truth, we know this is the start of so much more! what a triumph you have set - we can’t wait to see what happens next for you.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Oh what a night!!! On the 15th July 2021 we made it ‘back in the room’. FFive incredible speakers, sharing their stories around the theme of Truth and Triumph - we covered grief, trauma, challenges, personal highs and lows, achievements, victories and pitfalls… with incredible music and lyrical magic from our wonderful local raper Peter (who also helped massively on the night too!) All the things you can expect from a night of the absolute unknown. What was so wonderful about all our features is that they gave us the gift that literally changes the way we think: they gave themselves. It was EMOTIONAL to say the least!! <image:title>FF PAST EVENTS - Make it stand out</image:title>
<image:caption>Our final speaker of the night the FFabulous Chloe - a local singer and musician who during the pandemic came up with the incredible idea of lifting the spirits of residence that were shielding - arriving on doorsteps to sing and perform to them. This was the place ‘Give a Song’ was born. Her incredible community heart shone through on the night - and it’s without a doubt she would have lifted so many people with her talent. It encouraged other musicians and performers to join her, during this time even Mr. Motivator got involved which led to TV coverage. Chloe brought to the evening everything that we want FF to be remembered for - the beauty of community spirit. We were all enthralled by the talent of not only Chloe but two incredibly gifted additional musical artists - Andy (on guitar) and Sulamain (singer).</image:caption>

<image:title>FF PAST EVENTS - November FF Expression and Exploration</image:title>
<image:caption>Karen Arthur, Naomi Edmondson, Reza Pakravan and Joshua Coombes sharing their stories on expression and exploration in fifteen minutes. Reza Pakravan is an adventurer, filmmaker & author. His recent expedition of crossing the Amazon rainforest along the Transamazonian highway. Karen Arthur is a Fashion designer, sewing tutor and researcher with over 40 years sewing experience. In 2015, after 28 years in teaching, she decided to leave to focus full time on her Bespoke women’s fashion brand, Reddskin. Naomi Edmonson is a painter and mural artist. Her work focuses on humanizing urban spaces through language, colour and scale. Her paintings promote hope, optimism and relief from issues such as depression, anxiety and urban isolation. Joshua Coombes started his expressive journey back in 2015. Wherever Josh looked homelessness was rising and he was feeling more helpless each day at the magnitude and scale of this issue. From these negative feelings came the realisation - if he can't solve a problem overnight, that doesn't mean he can't make a positive impact today and make someone smile. It’s not all or nothing.</image:caption>

<image:title>FF ABOUT US - FFunding FF FFuture</image:title>
<image:caption>We the FFounders of FF work hard at our project, however its 80% funded. 10% comes from ticket sales at 10% comes from our fee on the night. We currently have all our FFeatures giving their time for FFree. We know we have a concept that can have a FFee and pay for peoples valuable time. But we can’t do this without FFunding. Applying for funding takes time and you have to be selective as to what you applying for. As most council/government funding will only allow you access to one pot so you have to be really smart what that pot looks like. Our vision is to take FF into schools, colleges, corporate events, create a creative hub in forest hill and provide jobs for young people. If you have any ideas on how we make our vision possible we’d love to hear from you. Email us at featuredfifteen@gmail.com</image:caption>

<image:caption>We love what FF brings to our local community but we also know it can work in a number of different ways too. It was my child (Helen) that asked if we cold do a FF in school as she hates the fact she’s too young to join us in the pub! we know our concept can work anywhere. So if you would like us to work with you for a bespoke one off event for your corporate get together, school subject, college inspiration then get in touch.
